Just like our tax prep help, these workshops are completely free and open to anyone.

We’re offering 7 public workshops at community spaces throughout the Portland Metro area this season, so if you’re interested in understanding taxes better, check out the offerings below.

This workshop is for gig workers and those who are self-employed who want to learn how to file their taxes with ease. It’s similar to our general Tax Basics workshop, with additional information that’s important to know as someone who is self-employed.

  • Tax deductions for self-employed individuals
  • Differences between contractors and employees
  • How to avoid owing money come tax time

Please note: This workshop is intended for gig workers and individuals with simple self-employment income. If you own a business with employees, carry inventory, or have more complex business expenses, this workshop may not be the right fit for your situation.
